Joe Shaneyfelt is a litigation associate at Greenberg Traurig. His practice focuses on intellectual property (patent), antitrust, and general commercial litigation and regularly appears in federal and state courts. Joe grew up in Southern California, and while he was the captain of the surf team in high school, he has since swapped his surfboard for a (few) pair of boots. Joe lives with his wife and newborn son in Austin, Texas. He is a Baylor Lawyer and graduate of Benedictine College, where he lettered in football as a linebacker and lacrosse—mostly playing right-bench behind his little brother. In between Baylor and Benedictine, Joe worked for Kansas Governor Sam Brownback vetting political and judicial appointees. Following law school, Joe clerked for the Hon. Matthew J. Kacsmaryk of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He then completed a fellowship with the Texas Attorney General’s Special Litigation Unit before joining GT.
